The Sacred Heart School Margaret Engel Endowment Trust was established in 1992 as a result of the generous contribution of $40,000 from the estate of Margaret Engel. As many alumni may remember, Ms. Engel was Sacred Heart School’s volunteer secretary for many years and the sister of Sister M. Fredrick, O.P., the first principal of Sacred Heart School.
Fund-raising efforts coordinated by our Home School Association, as well as the contributions of generous donors, continue to bolster the endowment. This is important, since tuition alone does not cover all of our operating costs. Today, the Margaret Engel Endowment stabilizes our tuition costs and allows us to maintain high academic standards by enhancing teachers’ salaries.
The Endowment is administered by the Sacred Heart School Leadership Council, which is comprised of alumni, parents, and parishioners.
