Welcome to 2024,

Happy New Year everyone. Hoping everyone had a wonderful holiday with family and friends surrounding you. Thank you all so very much for the beautiful and generous Christmas gifts. We are truly blessed to have such wonderful students and families. Thank you to our class moms who made a lovely Christmas party possible for our students. They had an amazing day.

With that said it’s time to start a new year and some new learning.

Our focus for the week of 01/01– 01/05:

 

Reading: “Jack and the Beanstalk” – high frequency words (he, for, it, be, is, me, the) , Beginning/middle sound Ii, adjectives, sequence, real/fantasy.

Phonics: Review beginning sounds, short a.

Writing: Writing  sentences,  Writing numbers 0-10

Math Numbers 1-10, number line, number patterns

Religion:  The Epiphany/ Three Kings Day.

Social Studies:  Antarctica, Season of Winter

Science: Penguins

Tomorrow  PJ movie day cookies and milk. Early dismissal 11:55am, NO AFTERCARE. Wear pjs, no slippers. Students do not need a snack. Cookies and milk with a birthday treat will be served. Only send in a snack if your child does not eat snacks provided. Please send in their water bottles.

Religion:   Advent Week 2 Peace.  This candle reminds us that the angels declared “peace on earth” at the birth of Jesus.

Social Studies: Children will identify ways to travel over the holidays.

Science: What animals need to survive.

Tomorrow is our Friendsgiving party for students only. Please drop off anything for our feast in the morning if you volunteered. Do not worry if you did not volunteer a treat. There will be other opportunities during the year to do so. Reminder, it  is a dress down tomorrow no uniforms. Early dismissal at 11:55 and aftercare is available. If your child is attending aftercare please pack a lunch
